The height of the sky above and the vivid fall colors on the Hotaka Mountain Range give you a very real sense that winter is coming, and soon.

Kamikochi’s fall foliage starts with maples and white birch, with the golden tones of the larch making an appearance at the end of the season. The best time to see them is usually from mid- to late October.
